Hypnosis Defined

Hypnosis is a state of focused attention that allows access to the subconscious mind.

In this state, your subconscious mind believes what it hears and imagines.  You naturally begin to overwrite the negative habit patterns of the past.  When you think and focus upon new, positive beliefs and a better future, you support the new patterns that hypnosis helps to anchor within your subconscious mind.  It creates a powerful ally in your subconscious mind that no longer sabotages your life.  Instead, the inner conflict diminishes as you continually focus upon what it is you do want now.

Are you still mystified by hypnosis?

There are many misconceptions, myths and downright lies about hypnosis.  These are the main three…

Myth #1

I might lose all control during hypnosis and tell secrets or do something crazy.” Loss of control is perhaps the greatest fear of hypnosis.  The truth is you don’t say anything during the hypnosis sessions, you simply listen, relax and drift into a calm and peaceful state of mind and body.  This myth results from watching stage shows where the people do all kinds of crazy things.  Even those on stage have to be willing to allow the hypnotist to give them wild and crazy suggestions.  No hypnotist can make you do anything you don’t want to do!

Myth #2

“I won’t hear what’s being said.” The truth is that you hear everything that’s being said, unless you choose to relax so much that you drift into a deeper state of mind and body.  And we record the session, so you’ll be able to hear it all later anyway.

Myth #3

“I can’t be hypnotized because I’m too strong-willed.” In reality everyone can be hypnotized, but some may not let it happen.  If you are open-minded, it’s an easy process.  Remember, we can’t make you do anything you don’t want to do.  All we need is the agreement with your conscious mind to work together to achieve results, but when your conscious mind resists out of fear then you aren’t hypnotized.  We review hypnosis before the first session  so that your fears are dispelled.   When you learn the truth about hypnosis you relax and begin to achieve your dreams.  You always can resist out of fear and ignorance, but why would you?

Hypnosis Helps You Believe It to See It!

Scientists are admitting that hypnotherapy techniques make people literally see what they believe by affecting the way their brains function. Volunteers who had their brains scanned while under hypnosis showed they were not merely doing what they were told.  The scans revealed that when they were asked to see non-existent colors, they really saw them.  In the tests by the University of California a burst of activity was seen in the part of their brain responsible for perceiving color.  “There has been a whole argument that hypnosis is just an exaggerated form of social compliance – in other words, people just telling you what you want to hear.”  The research team is now looking at how hypnosis can prevent pain.

  • How do Hypnosis CDs help you lose weight? Actual hypnosis sessions are recorded onto a Hypnosis CD for your use at-home.  With repeated listening the constant positive suggestions establish new positive behaviors and habits within your subconscious mind.  As these new beliefs begin to override the old habits they become a permanent part of your thoughts, behaviors and actions.
  • How long do you need to listen to them? Everyone is unique, but the new thoughts and desires begin to manifest into your conscious mind during  the first few weeks after listening to the Hypnosis CDs.  It is advised that you listen to a new Hypnosis CD every day until you have listened to the complete program.  Then begin again and go through the Hypnosis CD’s until the new habits are firmly established as your new behaviors.  This could be two, four or eight weeks.  The key is to be consistent, to listen to a Hypnosis CD every day and night.  The more you follow this program, the faster the results.

What’s the experience like? It’s as if you were watching a movie in your mind or listening to a book on tape.  As you picture, imagine, think about and experience yourself following the suggestions you begin to feel more confident and learn to direct your attention upon the life you do want.  Each Hypnosis CD is distinctly individual yet still focuses on your issues, behaviors and go

Still Want More Proof that Hypnosis Works?

Hypnosis is one of the most misunderstood (and effective!) tools for self-change available in the world today.

When you say “hypnosis,” most people think of magic shows, silly stage acts, and possibly even witchcraft.

Frankly, nothing could be further from the truth.

Hypnosis is simply this: a relaxed state of focused attention that allows people to control and change mental and physiological patterns that can’t be changed in everyday awareness.

The use of hypnosis to treat disease (also called “hypnotherapy”) has been around for more than half a century. In fact, the British Medical Association approved the use of hypnotherapy in 1955. The American Medical Association approved its use in 1958.

As you might imagine, if major medical associations have approved the use of hypnosis to treat disease, imagine how powerful it is when treating thought patterns that stand in the way of the slim body you deserve!

The Power of Hypnosis has not been Lost on the Mainstream Media as you can see below:

newsweek Hypnosis can help.  A growing body of research supports the ancient practice as an effective tool in the treatment of a variety of problems, from anxiety to chronic pain.

Hypnosis is merely a tool – a technique to tap into the subconscious.  Hypnosis is a state of concentration and focused attention.  With it the mind can be more powerful.  You simply have slipped into your subconscious.  the American Psychological Association has endorsed hypnosis for a number of years.  In 1995, the National Institutes of Health announced its support for hypnosis for cancer pain and other pain conditions.  Research from Harvard Medical  School and other institutions is showing evidence that hypnosis is indeed a process of mind over body.

BusinessWeek – Hypbwsmallnosis has gained credibility in the past five years because of research using the latest brain imaging technology.  Studies show hypnosis can help treat a multitude of disorders.

Clinical Studies Prove Hypnosis Works . . .Increases Weight Loss By 146%

Numerous clinical studies have proven that hypnosis is amazingly effective in helping folks lose weight:

  • In a 9-week study of two weight management groups (one using hypnosis and one not using hypnosis), the hypnosis group continued to get results in the two-year follow-up, while the non-hypnosis group showed no further results (Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985).
  • In a study of 60 women separated into hypnosis versus non-hypnosis groups to study weight loss, the groups using hypnosis lost an average of 17 pounds, while the non-hypnosis group lost an average of only .5 pounds (Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1986).
  • In a meta-analysis, comparing the results of adding hypnosis to weight loss treatment across multiple studies showed that adding hypnosis stopped weight gain and increased weight loss by an average of 97% during treatment, and even more importantly increased the effectiveness POST TREATMENT by over 146%. This shows that hypnosis works even better over time (Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1996).

The bottom line here is that when hypnosis sessions are added to various weight loss programs, the results are always better — more than 146% better over the long term!  They really do help you lose weight.

A study from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, suggests that long term results are better when hypnosis is part of the therapy package particularly if the patient is a believer in hypnosis.  Researchers analyzed 18 studies comparing a cognitive behavioral therapy, such as relaxation training, guided imagery, self monitoring or goal setting with the same therapy supplemented by hypnosis.  Those who received hypnosis lost more weight than 90 percent of the non-hypnosis patients and maintained the weight loss two years after treatment ended.
